E-form Barre Chord Patterns

 

Note: In order to understand the E form barre chords, you must know the names of the notes on the 6th String...the thickest string on your guitar - the low E string.

In the patterns (on the previous page)...the root note has been highlighted - (the root note is the note that falls on the 6th string)

 

Example1:

Now let's say that you wanted to form a B minor barre chord...

From the chart above we can see that B is on the 7th fret of the 6th string - - - so you just have to form pattern #2 on the 7th fret and you have your B-minor!

 

Example2:

Suppose you want to from C# Major7th sus4...

From the chart above you can see that C# is on the 9th fret of the 6th string.

...so just form pattern #6 on the 9th fret!

 

Example3:

Let's say you want to form an F7...from the chart above, you can see that F falls on the 1st fret of the 6th string...therefore just form pattern#3 on the first fret!
